The Dante's House Museum is in the core of medieval Florence between Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. The museum is inside a suggestive tower house and it is arranged on three floors according to the most important moments in the life of the Poet and of his Florence. The first floor displays a series of documents about the architectonic and economic aspects of the city and about the youth of Dante, his studies and his participation in the political and military life. The second floor exhibits documents realting to his exile and the third displays documents concerning the critical fortune of his work. From 2005 to this day new exhibition rooms are added to the museum: the Hall of Doctors and Apothecaries and the section dedicated to the jewellery. In 2010 the museum acquired some very precious and original medieval finds (white weapons, ceramics and daily-life items), thanks to a private donation.
