On occasion of the 500th anniversary of his birth, Florence dedicates for the first time to the painter Giovanni Stradano an exhibition at the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio, where the artist was involved for many years in the decoration of the new rooms, including the rooms of Eleonora di Toledo and the Studiolo of Francesco I, and the Salone dei Cinquecento. On display are around eighty works including paintings, drawings, prints, books, tapestries and instruments, which offer unprecedented insights into Stradano, who was Giorgio Vasari's main and most versatile collaborator in the decoration of Palazzo Vecchio. In the six sections set up along the museum itinerary, the works on display are placed in dialogue with the paintings that Stradano himself executed in the palace, with the aim of offering an in-depth look at the artist's original creative modernity.
