The great retrospective dedicated to Jenny Saville, one of the most influential living artists in the world, is a sort of exhibition spread through some of the major museums in the city: the Novecento Museum, the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, the Opera del Duomo Museum, the Museo degli Innocenti and Casa Buonarroti, all places where works by the English painter will be exhibited.
In the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, the most resonant monumental work, Fulcrum (1998-99), which definitively consecrated Jenny Saville with her first solo exhibition, dialogues dialectically with the masterpieces of the Salone delle Battaglie. The dialogue also becomes a confrontation with the language of sculpture, given the monumental dimensions of her images and the strong plasticity of the figures.
