From 19 March to 22 August 2021, the façade of Palazzo Strozzi changes its “face” through the site-specific installation by JR, one of the best known contemporary artists in the world. The title is particularly emblematic: La Ferita. Once again Palazzo Strozzi chooses a work visible to all, able to overcome the closures and limits of use of art imposed by the pandemic, inviting us to find a direct relationship with art and urging us to rethink the concepts of sharing, participation, creativity. Ancient and contemporary find themselves in dialogue again: the imposing and historic Palazzo, one of the symbols of the Florentine Renaissance, dialogues with JR, the young French artist and photographer who has transformed the "walls of the whole world into the largest art gallery imaginable at his disposal ".
