Timetable

The Salone dei Duecento returns to host the magnificent series of tapestries owned by the Presidency of the Republic and the Uffizi Galleries, dedicated to the Stories of Joseph, commissioned by Duke Cosimo I de' Medici and woven between 1545 and 1553 based on a design by three of the major artists of the time, Agnolo Bronzino, Jacopo Pontormo and Francesco Salviati.
On view the fourth cycle of tapestries, dedicated to the following scenes: Joseph's cup found in Benjamin's sack, drawing by Agnolo Bronzino, weaving by Nicolas Karcher, 1550-1553, 579 x 506 cm, Rome, Presidency of the Republic; Giuseppe holds back Beniamino, drawing by Pontormo, weaving by Jan Rost, 1546-1547, 567 x 269 cm, Rome, Presidency of the Republic; Giuseppe makes himself known to his brothers and dismisses the Egyptians, drawing by Agnolo Bronzino, weaving by Nicolas Karcher, 1550-1553, 557 x 283 cm, Florence, Uffizi Galleries; Joseph forgives his brothers, drawing by Agnolo Bronzino, weaving by Nicolas Karcher, 1550-1553, 573 x 457 cm, Florence, Uffizi Galleries.
