September turns blue at the Stefano Bardini Museum

It was 1925 when the Stefano Bardini Museum opened its doors thanks to the antique dealer's bequest to the city of Florence. Four special evenings offer an engaging and charming experience of the extraordinary value of the museum's collections.

For four consecutive Mondays (September 7, 14, 21 and 28), the museum will be exceptionally open beyond its usual opening hours, with extended hours from 5:00 PM to 08:00 PM, offering visitors the opportunity to explore slowly and experience it under a special light.
The museum's rooms are distinguished by their blue, a particular shade of blue that was so successful that it became known worldwide as Bardini Blue and that, thanks to the careful lighting, creates a different and fascinating atmosphere in each room.

Scheduled for :

• Monday, September 7, is a lecture by art historian Mario Scalini titled The Bardini Arms: Market and Collecting focusing on the weapons in the Bardini collection and their significance within the broader context of collecting and the antiques market.
• Monday, September 14, will feature "Biribissi", a recreational activity for families with children designed to explore the museum’s artworks and spaces through an engaging, participatory experience.
• Monday, September 21, art historian Giulia Coco will present the lecture Bardini Before Bardini: The Training and Artistic Beginnings of the "Prince of Antiquarians". She will trace Stefano Bardini’s formative years and the start of his professional career, highlighting the experiences, encounters, and milestones that contributed to his extraordinary success in the world of antiques.
• Monday, September 28, brings Face-to-Face with Stefano Bardini, a living history activity in collaboration with Francesco Gori. This event offers the public a chance to virtually meet the "Prince of Antiquarians" and hear — in his own words — the stories, motivations, and fascinating details behind the creation of his remarkable art collection. The event coincides with the Florence International Antiques Fair, reinforcing the connection between Bardini and the antiques tradition that remains a defining feature of the city today.
