The Enchantment of Orpheus

On display around 60 works of art dedicated to one of the most important and immortal figures of classical myth: paintings and sculptures, drawings and manuscripts, installations and films, ranging from antiquity to the present day.

Among the works on display, the superb Neo-Attic marble bas-relief from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples depicting Orpheus, Eurydice, and Hermes in the very moment when the legendary bard loses his beloved for the second time, this time forever, as well as works by Titian, Parmigianino, van Honthorst, Bruegel the Elder, Rembrandt, Delacroix, Moreau, Redon, Feuerbach, De Chirico, Cocteau, Savinio, Melotti, Twombly and Paladino, on loan from prestigious Italian and international cultural institutions and from private collections.
